Calling All Volunteers
The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee is hard at work to make sure our guests for the Republican National Convention experience a world-class event, unmatched hospitality and all the wonderful amenities that make Tampa Bay such a great place. The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee will recruit, train and manage thousands of volunteers to represent the Tampa Bay area during the week of the 2012 Republican National Convention. At the time of registration, all volunteers will select a volunteer role and will later be asked to attend a volunteer orientation session. All volunteers will be issued an official Host Committee uniform to wear during their volunteer service. Volunteers will be the faces of Tampa Bay and will welcome guests at local airports and hotels throughout the area, as well as support Host Committee programs and a variety of events. Online registration for the Volunteer Program will launch in late 2011. To be added to the list of interested volunteers, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. The Republican Party of Polk County, Florida exists for We the People!
As a political organization, our purpose is to uphold the principles of freedom, equality and justice on which the Republican Party and the government of this nation are founded, as set forth in the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Florida.
A Message from the Chairman
Welcome to the Republican Party of Polk County, Florida web site! And thank you for taking time to visit us. If you are looking for a way to get involved with restoring and protecting the Constitutional foundation that has made America the world's greatest nation, you have come to the right place.
You may be a seasoned Republican veteran new to our area and looking for the right place to plug in locally. If so, we need your experience and welcome your participation. You may be like so many others who have little political experience, but find yourself disturbed to action and looking for a way to engage your energy and resources. If so, we need your talent and invite you to participate. Our Country's future well-being depends on We the People!
Please consider this your personal invitation to explore our web site, seek answers to your questions and visit us at our next Polk County Republican Executive Committee meeting. I strongly and sincerely urge you take the next step - reach out - contact us and allow our Welcome Committee to point you in the right direction.
If you have a deep-seated concern for the well-being of our country, we invite you to join us as Polk County's Republican Executive Committee (PCREC) experiences renewed excitement and participation in the political process. Since September 2010, membership of the PCREC has grown from 80 to 220 members. With a potential membership of 814; however, we have only just begun to grow and there is much work yet to be done. Indeed, we are striving to become as effective and as relevant as we can be.
Along with those that have been faithful to the Party for many years, the vast majority of our new members are true, Constitutionally-minded conservatives eager to make a real difference in our political process and leadership. We understand how critical it is that we maintain momentum gained from the 2010 elections. We also understand that we mustn't take the success of 2010 for granted. Rather, we must continue with a concerted effort to grow the Party from the precincts up with our sights set on the quickly approaching 2012 elections.
Join us and let's build history together!
God Bless!
Jimmy Nelson
James M. Nelson, Chairman
